Aposave introduces price guarantee to help healthcare professionals around the
globe gain access to unlicensed medicines
New Individual Access Requests (IAR) service delivers on widespread, unmet medical needs
Aposave is launching a unique unlicensed medicine service to healthcare professionals around the globe. The new service called Individual Access Requests (IAR), will offer a price guarantee on all stock items held at the company’s global distribution centre in Alkmaar, The Netherlands.
Under the guarantee, Aposave will match the price of all orders of stock items held in its global distribution centre if price information is provided from the past 7 days.
Products in stock
Speed, access, and responsiveness is the value proposition from this new global, unlicensed medicine service, and Managing Director, Simon Estcourt continues:
“There are many countries where medicines are not registered and therefore not easy to access. As a result, patients in these countries often require access to a medicine that is not commercially available where they live.
In these situations, the healthcare professional wants to access the medicine quickly and receive a compassionate response from the company he or she is dealing with. Now, Aposave is introducing a next generation service in unlicensed medicines by offering a price guarantee for all products we hold at our global distribution centre.”
The service will initially be launched to healthcare professionals in Europe, The Middle East, and The Asia Pacific region. Our aim is to grow the list of products in stock in collaboration with healthcare professionals to continuously provide the best speed and access to fair priced pharmaceuticals globally.
Global strategy for growth
Parent company Abacus Medicine has been supporting healthcare professionals throughout Europe for over 16 years and the development of Aposave is part of The Abacus Medicine Group strategy to expand the business footprint globally.
Flemming Wagner, CEO and major shareholder of The Abacus Medicine Group says:
“Since 2004 Abacus Medicine has helped patients gain access to medicines and we are proud to have become the fastest growing company in parallel trade of original prescription medicines in Europe.”
“When I invited Simon Estcourt to join the organisation, the vision was that Aposave would drive the Abacus Medicine Group strategy to become a global business. The launch of the Individual Access Requests (IAR), a global unlicensed medicine service is an important part of this strategy.”
Unlicensed medicines are medicines that have not been licensed or registered in a country but are registered and available in another country. The vast majority of new, pharmaceutical products are registered in the USA, Japan, Western Europe and a few other countries, but many drugs won’t be registered in the majority of countries, including many countries in Europe, Latin America, Africa and the Asia
